Michael Rankin is a college graduate of Saint Xavier University with a bachelor's degree in communication with a primary focus in journalism and mass media. Mike's goal is to work as a reporter, broadcaster, or Media Relations associate for a professional baseball organization. His experience in journalism includes the titles of: Sports Director, Lead Sports Journalist, Media Relations Assistant, Special Projects Assistant and Media Relations Intern.
Throughout his academic life, Michael participated in extracurricular activities including baseball, and contributed to his school's publication as well as its student radio station. In his senior year of high school, Mike was recognized as business student of the year. He graduated high school with a 3.7 GPA and finished his college career with a similar GPA of 3.7 overall, but owned a perfect 4.0 in classes related to his major. During his time in high school and college, Mike demonstrated a strong balance of time management and a reliable work ethic.
Outside of work, Michael spends his free time watching sports, writing about sports, and playing sports. Mike spends a strong amount of time studying baseball and is currently in the process of reading, Sandlot Stats, written by Stanley Rothman. What separates Michael from the rest is his reliability, time management skills, and dedicated work ethic. These qualities also demonstrate the fact Michael can contribute to organizations outside of sports journalism and media. Mike will utilize his skills to become a member of a successful organization in need of an effective communicator.
